Schedule for this month: 1st to 31st August 2010

  • All internal works completed
  • Site offices have been removed
  • External works in playground and vehicle access started on 19/07/10 including drainage works, excavation, levelling and resurfacing (see photo)
  • Handover date: 27/08/10

Progress for last month: 1st to 31st July 2010

Progress on site:

  • Temporary accommodation has been dismantled and removed from the playground.
  • Lifting operation was completed during the half term break (1st to 5th June 2010)
  • Works on the future vehicle access started on 15th June and can now be used as a temporary means of access for school vehicles (see photo).
  • The final surface course (tarmac) will be completed during the summer holidays

Progress for month: 1st to 31st May 2010

Refurbishment Works:

 

Handover of the last phase of refurbishment works on 26/05/10 aiming at converting an Art department into Geography and Maths rooms:

  • New Geography Department provided
  • New Maths classroom provided
  • New History/Geography office created

Works involved opening in load bearing walls, new mechanical pipeworks and electrical installations, new partitions and school furniture, new glazed roof in Geography room.

 

This phase of works completes the internal works at Westminster City School.

 

External Works (last phase of works):

 

Starts on 29/05/10 to be completed by end of August 2010.

  • Removal of temporary accommodation during the June break (from 01/06 to 04/06)
  • Preparation of the future vehicle access next to the King Building (south block)

Progress for month: 1st to 30th April 2010

Phase 3 Progress by End of April:

  • Structural works completed during Easter break for minimal disruption at the school (i.e. noise, vibration, removal of rubble from demolition)
  • Internal trades: partitioning completed, painting 50% complete
  • M&E first fix completed on electrical and mechanical works
  • Handover scheduled for end of May 2010
