Project Description

St. George’s School is a fast improving, well-ordered and exciting Catholic learning community for boys and girls aged from eleven to sixteen. As part of the revelopment project the school will benefit from a new sports hall and teaching block creating additional resources.

A new sports hall and teaching block will be constructed which will incorporate additional external sports and informal play areas on the roof.

Other significant improvements include the complete refurbishment of the technology and science block and an extension to the existing assembly hall building to create additional dining space and an enhanced drama & music department.

New Build Area (2460m2)
The new block will incorporate a multifunctional sports hall, learning resource centre and learning support plus additional teaching classrooms.  The new building will link to the school via a bridge.

The extension to the assembly block comprises a new kitchen, additional dining space and activity studio.

Refurbished Area (2964m2)
The existing block which contains Design Technology, Science, Art and Business Studies will be refurbished.

Also, the existing toilets on the second floor between two blocks will be converted to from the SEN unit.

The existing block (Block C) will be refurbished to create 3 additional teaching classrooms in the former location of the old library.

Finally, the old gymnasium in Block A will be remodelled to form the new drama studio, music rooms and changing areas.
