Project Description

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School is a Special Education Needs (SEN) community school operating on a single site in West Kilburn. It is an all age school (5-19) for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), with place for 70 pupils.

The Eastern Wing of the school is due to be demolished and replaced by a new-build construction, with the rest of the building mostly untouched.  This will address both capacity and suitability issues currently faced by the school.  Temporary accommodation will be provided for the duration of the works in the North West part of the site.

The partial demolition will create space on the site. This allows the building to be designed as located on the corner of the Ashmore Road and Kennet Road.

The new buildings will provide a dynamic new presence to the local streetscape.  Architectural qualities incorporated within the design of the scheme will be a positive addition to its immediate surroundings and community.
