Bouygues-UK Pimlico School Site Manager, Robel Sertzu, has been awarded Bronze by Considerate Constructors for his involvement in the building of the Greenvale Special Needs School in the London Borough of Lewisham.
This project involved the development of a new school in a densely populated residential housing estate, and with the rear boundary backing on to an existing primary school. The site was very tight and space restricted. The site team prepared well and all of the local residents were invited to a presentation well in advance of project commencement. This pre-planning would prove decisive in the execution of this project. The contractor must be commended in its approach to the ideals of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and their implementation on this project. The image presented was remarkable; it was such that the management team received compliments from visitors on the appearance of the site. The site management team displayed considerable depth, too, in the quiet efficiency with which they managed the project. The systems in place ensured that great emphasis was placed on respect to employees, the neighbours, and the environment. At all times the contractor took responsibility and accountability seriously. The Site Manager, the site team and the client can take huge credit for a job well done.
